Water Taxi to Amaravathi To ferry the people in the river front capital, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh government is mooting the idea of water taxis. Amaravati will have 25 Kms of waterfront and the city will be made a unique blue and green city. Water taxis will be used to ferry people to offices. This move is likely to decrease the carbon foot print as well.

Naidu had met Prime Minister Narendra the other day in Delhi and submitted him the report of the Sub-Group of Chief Ministers on Swachh Bharat Mission. The Prime Minister accepted Naidu’s invitation to come to the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati. Modi will also inaugurate the new terminal at Tirupati airport later the same day.

Modi in this meeting reportedly promised to sort out bifurcation issues after discussing with NITI Aayog chairperson and assured to release funds for Polavaram. Naidu informed him that Amaravati is planned on par with international cities and would have sports city, entertainment, education and health hubs, besides a justice city and a separate administrative block.
