Vizag smart city photoIt may be known to our readers that Vishakapatnam is the chosen one in the list of cities which US expressed its interest to develop as Smart Cities in India. Less than 2 months after the announcement, senior officials from the state held discussions with representatives of the US industry and officials of the US embassy at the smart cities conclave in New Delhi on Saturday.

US India Business Council, which is a premier business advocacy organisation representing America’s top companies investing in India has organized this conclave.
This first meeting was mostly about giving the US industry and embassy people the data pertaining to the city and the coming meetings will on how to take the plan forward.

The government was advised to develop the basic amenities prerequisite for smart cities like 24×7 water supply, around-the-clock electricity, 100% toilets in slum areas and technologies for solid waste management.
