Trusted sources in Andhra Pradesh government tells us that the government is in plans to create a new district in VUDA region till the Outer Ring area of Vijayawada. This district will extend between Vijayawada and Guntur districts and will be the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
However the government is so far only pooling lands in the Guntur district which means that all the administration and new projects will come up there itself while the already good urban area and infrastructure of Vijayawada which grew naturally till now will be added to the capital.
The proposed Ring Roads and widening of existing Highways will decrease the commuting time between Vijayawada and Guntur and both the regions will continue to serve as capital just like Hyderabad and Secunderabad almost became same after the capital development is spread.
