The bifurcation blues have hit Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams too. The officials have decided to dump the recommendation letters of MLAs and Ministers of the new Telugu state, Telangana. It is said that the officials are at most issuing accommodation on such letters but not darshan. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government is keen on eradicating VIP culture in TTD and the state ministers are issuing letters very selectively.
It is almost a herculean task to obtain a recommendation letter from Andhra Pradesh CMO while Telangana CMO had stopped issuing the letters from day one after the state formation. Telugu Desam legislators from Telangana have recently requested Chandrababu Naidu to ask the authorities to accept their letters and the CM is yet to take a decision on it. On the other side, Telangana legislators are pushing their Chief Minister to take up the issue with the Governor but KCR is currently not toying the idea. However TTD in its recently revised rules is committed to honour the legislators of Telangana and their family when they come to Tirupati directly.
