The Chief Minister’s Office of Telangana has got nearer to people. To get closer to the people, Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao ordered the IT department to create account for Chief Minister’s Office on Social Networking sites, Twitter and Facebook. These accounts will be maintained by an expert team consisting of technology and political experts. Currently, the trial run of these accounts is being carried out and the team is overwhelmed with the response as the likes for Telangana CMO on Facebook got about 30000 Likes in the first two days after the account was created. The Twitter account is slightly on slower side with over 1200 followers.
Currently the date to day affairs of the Chief Minister and the decisions taken by the government are being updated on periodical basis. According to sources in the CMO, there is also a proposal regarding creation of a website of Telangana CMO. The IT department is now engaged in creating website and it will be launched very soon. It is said that the foray of government in to Cyber space is the initiative taken by IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao.
