Deepika Padukone without any doubt is at the peak of her career with critical as well as commercial success in good measure. Her latest actions therefore can be seen as a measure of her stardom or is that her ego showing through?
Deepika was recently approached to star opposite Hrithik Roshan in an untitled film to be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya of Dhoom 3 fame. This new film to be produced by Yash Raj banner is expected to start a fresh franchise in Bollywood after Krish and Dhoom series. The whole set up is apparently modeled on Hollywood’s Mission Impossible. So far so good and the actress were keen to be on board but then another casting was made.
The makers reportedly roped in Amitabh Bachchan and that’s when rumors started flowing that Deepika has said no to the film. It is being circulated that she is not happy with her role, something which highlights her stardom at the moment, but there are also reports suggesting that presence of Big B made her opt out of the film. The two had a fallout post the tremendous success of Piku where they were seen together.
Now is it the stardom or ego of the actress that is making the decision?
