With a loss of over Rs 380 crore in the past year and still increasing for Tollywood, it is a problem that needs to be tackled as soon as possible.

Luckily, the Telangana Government has come up with a solution to eradicate it. The Telangana intellectual property crime unit (TIPCU) has been launched to go after the pirated websites. An Intellectual Property Crime Unit has been formed, the first in the entire country, to help with the eradication of piracy from the state.

As per latest report in the Telugu Cinema itself, there are about 43 torrent sites, 146 piracy websites, about 32 streaming sites and the content on these sites are worth over crores and with an income of Rs 93 lakhs per day.

TIPCU job is to find and take the necessary actions against offenders who commit crimes that come under the 1973 Criminal Procedure Code or any other Acts/Rules that are applicable.
