Over the last year, the country has seen a large number of farmers committing suicide. Coming to the rescue of these distressed farmers, Nana Patekar had originally started a quite drive to help them. Taking a leaf out of his book, now Akshay Kumar has also come to the aid of these farmers fraught with strife.
Akshay Kumar took everyone by surprise when at a fashion show in Delhi last month he went up to the stage imploring the guests to donate for the cause. In just an evening he managed to raise money to the tune of 50 lakhs and encouraged by this he is now on a mission to do more and more for the farmers of our country.
Akshay’s drive has been very useful as people are open to giving money since they are assured that it will reach the right hands. Moreover, Akshay himself has donated around 50 lakhs for the cause.
