The plight of flesh trade for small heroines

It might seem very unfortunate but it is how the fate decides for them. In the glamour world one never knows, what would happen next. It is all the work of destiny. Struggling at every stage and ending up doing something uncalled for, seems to have become the norm for some small heroines in the film industry. One or two hits and their hopes surge to heaven, waiting hopefully to get a big break. Sometimes the big break never smiles upon and lost in the race, there will be no other go but to do unimportant roles and then sometimes move to become paid dancers for events.

Sometimes, these small heroines opt for flesh trade. Swetha Basu Prasad, who rose to fame with Varun Sandesh’s ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ was arrested on Sunday night red-handed doing flesh trade. She was arrested at Park Hyatt’s Hotel for prostitution alongwith Mumbai based businessmen. A video was recorded even, in which she was seen demanding Rs.5 lakhs. A pimp by name Balu was also arrested and sent to Charlapalli Jail for further investigation. Swetha is sent for rehabilitation centre. This was the second time she was arrested with prostitution charges.

A small heroine who rose to fame with just one film, couldn’t continue that success. Then opted to do blink and miss roles, dancing for events and functions. She is even directing a documentary on classical Indian music titled ‘Roots’. All these ups and downs and finally ending up in flesh trade; very sad state of affairs. Though all small heroines aren’t heading for such degrading and plightful situation, it is really painful to see small time stars choosing to do something like this. One never knows…What weakness and what wants mark this plight!
