Information Technology and Investment Region The former UPA government had sanctioned Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR) Project to Hyderabad in 2013. The ambitious project was proposed with several thousands of crores of rupees in a bid to attract investments worth several lakhs of crores of rupees in the next two and half decades.

But neither the center nor the state governments have spent any money on the project. Center had earlier sanctioned 165 Crore for improvement of transportation in ITIR region but did not spend anything out of it. The state government estimated that 15000 Crore is necessary for for development of roads, sewerage, water supply, solid waste and electricity in the ITIR regions.

Center promised to found 3275 Crore for better connectivity and another 3,000 crore was promised for metro rail connectivity from Falaknuma to Shamshabad in future. But none of these are materialized. The state government had set aside 90 Crore in this budget for the preparation of the master plan but did not spend the amount.
