The future of 5.5 Lakh students will be affected by the ongoing Fees Reimbursement controversy. It is known that Telangana government has decided to aide only those students whose families are residing in Telangana before 1956, the year from which the United State came in to existence. KCR wants no settler to get benefited from Telangana treasury and is banking on this new ‘nativity’ rule. However this will affect the future of 5.5 Lakh Students who are already studying from 2nd year to 4th year.

1.16 Lakhs in Engineering and Medicine, 36000 PG and other courses, 1.8 Lakhs degree and 2.12 Lakhs Intermediate students will not receive financial aid from Telangana government. On the other side, these students will not fit in to the nativity rule of Andhra Pradesh government which means they will not be eligible for financial aid from both the state governments. Students and their parents are deeply worried and expecting only Center’s intervention will save them from this crisis. However Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu recently hinted that Center will not involve in this issue and states will have to solve it adhering to constitutional spirit.
