The Pratyush Sinha Committee appointed to distribute All India Service (AIS) officers between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh sprang a surprise to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. In the division of the officers, the committee has decided to allocate Chandra Babu’s principal secretary Ajay Sawhney to Telangana even as his wife and fellow IAS officer Nilam Sawhney has been allotted the AP cadre. AP’s power principal secretary Ajay Jain who played a crucial role in cancellation of Power PPAs and implementation of 24X7 Power project for AP is allotted to Telangana.
There are few surprises for the Telangana CM as well like alloting GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Planning chief of Telangana BP Acharya were allotted to Andhra Pradesh. Both the Chief Secretaries have signed on the final allotement and the list will now be forwarded to prime minister Narendra Modi for his approval. After getting his approval, the list will be notified by this month end. However these officers have three months to challenge their allotments.
