Hyderabad High Court has come down heavily on Telangana government for the GO on FAST – Financial Assistance for Students of Telangana program. The program is intended to reimburse fees for only those students whose family are residing in the state before 1956, the year the United State came in to existence. This rule is made to avoid giving Telangana money to settlers who came to the state after 1956, the year the United State came in to existence.

The high court used some sharp words criticizing the government, “Telangana is not in other country. The constitution will not allow such GO. It will only destroy the National Integration”. The high court has ordered the government to reconsider the decision and file a counter affidavit. The further discussions on this case were postponed by 6 weeks. The high court gave this judgement on the petitions by former ministers Pitani Satya Narayana and Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad. This will be a big setback to KCR government which is already reeling under the bad name of several controversies.
