Take the name of Talasani Srinivas Yadav, one would remember the high drama he enacted on the morning of the day he was going to be sworn in as the new minister of Telangana State. One of the ‘jumping japangs’, Talasani must have taken a cue or more from the superstars films and rightfully or to say fatefully he was given to handle even the cinematography portfolio. Even superstars promotional posters never had been excesses of this range.
The latest act of Talasani in discussion is his ad mania which became a point of concern for the people living in Secunderabad (not sparing parts of Hyderabad even). Once there had been a popular Hutch ad-tag line ‘Wherever You Go, Our Networks Follows You’. Now this can be rewritten as ‘Wherever You Go, Talasani Follows You’; right from electrical poles to flyovers, big hoardings to under-construction metro rail pillars…Talasani is everywhere turning the city pink and his free ‘Darshan’ facility 24×7.
And surprisingly this happened without the permission of GHMC. If someone else had put up such promotional posters, it would have been a huge source of revenue for GHMC but as the popular saying goes’ ‘Rules are made for commoners & by default politicians and rich are exemptions’. If the GHMC dares to take in legal path it can slap notices and hefty fine on the newly appointed minister. But it seems GHMC rules aren’t made for CM and ministers of the State.
