Telugu Desam Party suffered a severe jolt in Telangana with TDP senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao resigning for the party. Along with him, MLC Balasani, Khamma district TDP President Konda Bala, ZP Chairperson Kavitha and DCCB Chairman Konda Babu also resigned to the party. Tummala who was with Telugu Desam Party since its start was not comfortable with party high command giving importance to his rival Nama Nageswara Rao. Tummala and his supporters did not get the tickets of their choice in the general elections. Nama and Tummala conspired against each other and both of them lost and confined TDP to just one seat in the district.

Telangana Rashtra Samiti which is trying to establish its foot hold in Khammam has been trying to woo Tummala even before the elections. Tummala met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao the other day. It is said that he is offered MLC post and minstry for coming in to TRS. Interestingly, Tummala came to Khammam TDP office a short while ago and told the media that he will announce if he is going to quit the party or not on September 5th. On the other side, TRS Party sources say that Tummala is joining their party on September 5th.
