KCR The rapid modernization is already denying the denizens proper lung space in Hyderabad city. Besides taking no measures to stop the expansion of the concrete jungle, TRS government has decided to take away 12 acres of Indira Park and allocate it for Telangana Kala Bhavan.

Indira Park is the largest green space under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is spread over 69.4 acres and will be providing lung space for thousands of people every week. Telangana Kala Bhavan proposed in the recently proposed budget will be constructed keeping in mind the role played by poets and artistes in the struggle for a separate Telangana.

However, there are questions all over, over the government’s decision as several auditoriums in the city are lying idle most of the time due to the high rentals quoted. Environmentalists demand the government to revisit the decision and are demanding that they should use several heritage structures lying idle for the construction of the Telangana Kala Bhavan.
