In what could be termed officially as the first step towards the bi-lingual zone, Superstar Mahesh Babu will be seen in Chennai in the coming days for the promotion of his new film Srimanthudu. He would therefore be first among his contemporary stars to promote simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil film worlds for a regular commercial venture.
As they say devil lies in the details, it is what has been planned as part of promotion where the trick lies. Superstar Mahesh Babu will be in Chennai not only launching the audio of his film’s Tamil dubbed version but is also reported to be part of audio launch of a biggie there.
There is a massive buzz in the industry currently that Mahesh Babu will be one of the guests at the audio launch of Tamil star Vijay’s Puli. The audio launch is slated to happen on August 2 and it will then be followed by the music launch of Superstar’s Selvanathan. All of this will culminate in the release of the Srimanthudu and its Tamil version on August 7.
Audio release in the week of the movie release might not be that great idea but the presence of Mahesh Babu at Puli launch will surely attract lots of eyeballs. The promotional aspect cuts both ways as it would be beneficial to Vijay too but with Srimanthudu releasing immediately, chances of its registering and showing an impact are higher.
Whatever may be the final result it is surely a historic step for Telugu cinema and its stars if in future more stars follow the same route.
