‘Kick’ is undoubtedly a special film in Ravi Teja’s filmography. After watching the movie, one can easily understand it is the right movie for Ravi Teja’s energy and star power. Director surender Reddy got every spice right for the movie…right from the casting, music, script and execution. The film was remade with Salman Khan in Bollywood and scored a run away hit breaking and making records in Bollywood. But for the people who watched the original, Ravi Teja’s ‘Kick’ remained ultimate comparitively.
Coming to Super Ranga, it is the Kannada remake of ‘Kick’ starring Upendra and Kriti Karbanda which was released last Friday. But this has given a bit of disappointment to the audience. Inspite of the big star cast and the dazzling beauty of Kriti Karbandha, the director missed on the execution of kick angle in an entertaining way. Upendra’s repetition of mannerisms didn’t add to the kick rather they diluted the originality. The overall kick is missing in ‘Super Ranga’. Ofcourse, that is what happens mostly when a film is remade.
