With the advancement of technology and social media, the internet now plays an important role in romance as well.
As per a recent study in USA, the social networking website Facebook and smartphones come in handy where progression of romance is concerned. While the internet has been taken over several aspects of our daily lives, no one saw romance making that list but now statistics show that over 35 per cent of American teenagers have been carrying on their romances with the help of Smartphones or social media, be it flirting, or break-up.
The survey was conducted at Pew Research Centre regarding teens between 13-17 years of age. About 57% of the teenagers make friends online but are less probable to start a relationship with them. Teens are more likely to flirt and express their interests online but the majority still date offline.
