The climax ending shot is different in Malaysia. While there is a lot of ambiguity regarding the climax of Tamil and Telugu versions, but the version released in Malaysia ends with a caption which isn’t seen in the versions released in India. The caption goes ‘Finally Kabali Surrendered To The Police’ (Check above image).

In the film, gangster Kabali already spends more than two decades in jail and when he comes out, that was shot as his intro scene which is same in India and Malaysia. But the ending shot in Malaysia seems to be a bit different.

Climax shot where Rajini sitting with students we hear a gun shot sound when his farmer student comes out of jail with a gun in hand. Director leaves us with no clue if Kabali is dead as the screen goes blank and movie ends! But in Malaysia they have added an end shot (above image). Kabali already spends two decades in Jail and tries so hard to re-unite with family but end shot says he surrendered to cops again? Can director explain this?
