There is a buzz making rounds and also reports in English tabloids that actress Ileana D’Cruz was offered a whooping amount of Rs.1.5 crore for an item song in Ram Charan and Srinu Vaitla’s upcoming movie ‘Bruce Lee’. Though the news isn’t official yet, one is left wondering if such extravaganza is worth it.
Isn’t it an unnecessary burden the producer to escalate the production cost by spending on item numbers that don’t add much value to the film. Does Ileana have such big fan base that she can pull crowds to theatres just for the sake of her item number? Isn’t it an extra burden on the makers of the film?
Even for Vaitla’s previous film ‘Aagadu’, top heroine Shruti Haasan was roped in for an item song and she reportedly charged Rs.50 lakhs for that. What value had it added to Mahesh’s film even when Shruti Haasan has good fan following at present among Telugu audiences?
