Shruti Haasan is going to have a big release ‘Gabbar Is Back’ on May 1 in Bollywood. She is starring opposite Akshay Kumar and essaying the role Shreya Saran played in ‘Tagore’. In ‘Tagore’, Shreya’s role was too puny and insignificant. Though Jyothika had a cameo role as Chiranjeevi’s wife, it had more impact than the female lead Shreya’s role.
Coming to Shruti’s role in the Hindi remake, in a recent interview, Shruti revealed that she is playing Shruti, a junior lawyer in Gabbar. Shruti feels that law is in her blood as both her uncles (Kamal’s brothers) are also lawyers and hence she didn’t have any problem to get into the character of a junior lawyer. She never had been to a real court to watch the proceedings though.
With this revelation, audiences might expect Shruti’s role to be a bit different from Shreya’s role and also more significant. Anyway starring in a big film makes all the difference for actresses and hence even a small role gives them necessary boost to their career.
