Ram Shivam Telugu Movie ReviewWhat is the film about?
Shivam is on a perennial mission to help lovers united and get married. While on that mission he also harbors ambitions to find a girl to love and fight for her. Enter Tanuja (Rashi Khanna) and he finds the love. How he wins her in the end and what’s the reason for mission, is what the film is all about.

How is Ram’s performance?
Hero Ram has great ease in dialogue delivery and he uses that to maximum benefit and along with dances, he tries to entertain us throughout. However the actor still hasn’t reached a stage where he could be above the script and cover lack of it with his presence alone. This lack of screen presence eventually catches up as the film runs out of steam and even dances appear boring. Overall Shivam is the kind of film where the hero despite his best efforts ends up losing.

Srinivas Reddy Shivam Telugu Movie ReviewDirection By Srinivas Reddy?

Srinivas Reddy is credited with not just the direction but also the story, screenplay and dialogues. On dissection one could come to a conclusion that except direction Srinivas Reddy has failed on rest all important segments. It is a testament to his direction that he manages to engage up to a point even with a nonexistent story and silly screenplay.

By the time one gets to interval there is a feeling of exhaustion due to continues entertainment that digresses from the main plot all the time. The directors attempt to freshen up the predictable nature of the screenplay with unnecessary twists further drags the film. At the midpoint in the second half one completely gives up, it doesn’t matter what happens after that point, not the flashback, not the climax, nothing matters after that breaking point. Simply put, it is a bad debut for Srinivas Reddy.

Rashi Khanna Shivam Telugu Movie ReviewRashi Khanna and other artists?
Rashi Khanna is shown glamorously as usual with very little to act. She does her part in a clinical manner with absolutely zero effort. The film is basically a character artists and comedians show from the beginning till the end. Comedian Srinivas Reddy is superb and timing works more often than not. Brahmanandam does his usual self. Abhimanyu Singh chips in with comic villainy and so does the other villain cast. In the successive weeks Fish Venkat is again highlighted here. Others, like Mano, Surekha Vani, Naresh and Posani act as mere fillers.

Devi Sri Prasad Shivam Telugu Movie ReviewMusic and other departments?
Music for the film along with the background score by Devi Sri Prasad is a great asset. Unfortunately poor screenplay let’s down the whole effort as the songs, despite being properly timed, fail to capture the audience interest. Cinematography is alright. Editing should have been ruthlessly done as there is lots of unnecessary stuff in the film.

Drawbacks Shivam Telugu Movie ReviewAlternative Take
Once again what could have been a decent venture is turned into a chore due to the over emphasize on the entertainment fact. With such a serious flashback one could have made a far more serious masala film with entertainment thrown in necessary proportions. The penchant for comedy and punches in every scene dilutes that. An alternative take would be making a film with proper use of the flashback and creating a more serious and integral to the main narrative father character.
