Secretariat staff requests more time for shiftShifting of the administration to Amaravati is not being as easy as it is said for Andhra Pradesh government. The AP Secretariat Employees’ Association clarified that they will not shift out of Hyderabad till the completion of the current academic year. They met the Chief Minister himself and explained how a hasty shift will affect the academic career of their children.

Some of them even went to the extent of questioning the rationale of shifting to temporary accommodation pending construction of the capital city when Hyderabad is the joint capital for 10 year. But Naidu clearly said that administration close to Amaravati will ensure early completion of the capital city’s construction.

The Chief Minister reportedly did not give them any assurance and firmly said that without shifting the state secretariat to Vijayawada, it will be difficult for him to streamline the administration. Government sources say that senior officials are ready to shift to Vijayawada but they are facing with resistance from the lower-rung staff.
