AP-telangana-taxesFor the first time after the state bifurcation, the tax revenues of Andhra Pradesh had surpassed that of Telangana. In the first quarter of the current fiscal, AP’s tax revenues stood at 10806 Crore while Telangana earned a tax revenue of 10580 Crore. Despite losing the cash cow Hyderabad to Telangana, AP had registered impressive growth.

Similarly AP also is ahead of Telangana is VAT revenue. The truncated state had netted 7182 Crore in this quarter while Telangana had recorded 7150 Crore. AP had put impressive show thanks to the healthy revenue from commercial taxes, stamps and registrations as well as mines and forests.

On the other side, Telangana leads AP in revenue generated through registration of vehicles. Telangana earned 569 Crore from vehicles registration while AP managed 512 Crore. AP government is planning to improve the revenue in this by announcing incentives on vehicle registrations in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Tirupati, Kakinada and Anantapur.
