Samantha the reigning queen of Tollywood has every reason to be jealous of Nithya Menon. She actually got a chance to do a special role in ‘Rudramadevi’ and through phone call she was even contacted for the role of Mummidamma. Finally the role went to Nithya Menon. She really feels bad and a bit jealous for missing the role but praises Nithya that she is worthy.
Sams even lost the Filmfare Best Actress award for the year 2013 to Nithya Menon. Earlier Samantha twice got Filmfare Best Actress Award for ‘Eega’ and ‘Eto Vellipoyindi Manasu’ (for Tamil version). This time Filmfare chose Nithya. Explaining on this Samantha observes that Nithya deserves the award for ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde’ because without Nithya the character wouldn’t have shaped up so well.
Though industry hit ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ remains to be one of her special movies, the character she has done isn’t very special one and any actress would have easily fit into that character if given a chance to play the female lead in the movie. But for GJG, Nithya is the heart who induced life into the character with different shades she portrayed. This justification from Samantha’s side has even more increased the respect on her for being so logical and down to earth nature. What say guys?
