After 13 years finally the judgment is out on Bollywood star Salman Khan’s hit and run case. The star has been found guilty under Section 304 of IPC which is Culpable Homicide not amounting to Murder. The actor faces jail term for a maximum period of 10 years under this.
Salman Khan along with the family members was present in court when the verdict was declared. He was reportedly in tears as did his family members when the final announcement came. The lawyers on his behalf are still discussing the quantum of punishment that is eventually to be taken as there is a possibility of reduction going by previous cases of this type.
The actor and his team have already prepared for an appeal to High Court and it would be filed soon. However it has to be seen if the star would be taken into custody immediately or there would be some time available before it. It is also being said that even for a bail it might get difficult as the Bombay High Court would be on vacation in a week’s time.
