dileep-kumar-in-saheba-subramanyam movie reviewWhat is the film about?
Love story between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl.

How is Dileep Kumar’s performance?
Dileep Kumar is the biggest let down of the film. At best he can be credited for delivering few lines well in a film that is heavily dependent on it. But for the rest of the movie he is a miscast and to put it bluntly he has ruined the film.

sasi-kiran-narayana-in-saheba subramanyam movie review
Direction By Sasi Kiran Narayana?
Sasikiran Narayana making her directorial debut has done a nice job. She has used the music and visuals in sync to take the narrative forward well. She has all the right ideas or it could be because its a remake she has the right screenplay and characters in place but poor casting makes matter worse. Another problem is the uneven narrative whereby there are parts that are good and there are parts that equally drag. Also as the film approaches the conclusion it becomes more and more predictable. One could judge her talent when she makes an original film.

priya-gor-in-saheba-subramanyam movie review
Priyal Gor and others performance?
Priyal Gor is perfect casting and when someone is cast perfectly it is half victory as far as performance and the engagement with the viewers goes. All she does is pout and smile and show little reservedness and she covers everything that is required for her character in terms of performance without actually performing them. Suresh as friend of hero is a typically expected character in this sort of films and he does his part well. Rao Ramesh as cool cop supporting love is good. MS Narayana is good in a small role. Nagineedu is wasted and Naresh once again makes good use of his small screen time.

shaan-rahman-in-saheba-subramanyam movie review
Shaan Rahman and other departments?
Shaan Rahman is the heart and soul of the movie. His music and background score give the film a feel that very few films can achieve. Cinematography is good by and large. Editing should have been sharper. Dialogues with poetic touch are good but they generate better feeling as its not everyday that we get such attempt in terms of writing.

Alternative take:
A change in hero itself would make for a better alternative film. Apart from that the Nagineedu angle with the factory backdrop and hero gang who are pitted against him could have been developed in a better way integrating the lead pair into it to rise more tension.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes, few portions throughout.

Will you recommend it?
No, but if one can withstand hero give a try.
