Ruling Parties have registered remarkable wins in the recently concluded bypolls in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Tangirala Soumya, TDP candidate won the Nandigama Assembly seat by a margin of 74827 votes on his nearest rival Bodapati Babu Rao from Congress. The bypoll was necessarily here due to the sudden demise of TDP legislator Tangirala Prabhakar. His daughter Soumya contested in the seat, the opposition party, YSR Congress refrained from the contest following the tradition of supporting the kin of a deceased legislator.

In Telangana, TRS Party had pulled out a sensational win in its bastion, Medak Parliament. Kotha Prabhakar Reddy of TRS won with a record breaking 3,61,277 majority. Congress Party candidate Sunita Lakshma Reddy stood second while BJP+TDP candidate, Jagga Reddy came in at a distant third. The bielection was facilitated due to the resignation of K Chandra Sekhar Rao who contested both for Gajwel Assembly and Medak Parliament winning both of them. He retained Gajwel Assembly and went on to become Chief Minister leaving Medak Parliament seat vacant. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao has his vote in this segment at Chintamadaka village, Medak.
