kcr new bus readyTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s specially designed bus was recently brought to the state from Benz Company in Chandigarh. Usually, according to the Motor Vehicles Act, vehicles that are purchased elsewhere in the country when brought for operation in the state are liable to entry tax.

The bus was being maintained by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and so the corporation is liable to pay this entry tax. This should amount to 37.33 Lakh. But the government waived it off saying that it amounts to department-to-department transaction.

This bus cost more than 5 Crore to the state exchequer and will be used by the Chief Minister when he is on district tours. The other Telugu Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also purchased similar bus.
