nara-rohit-in-rowdy-fellow-review
What is the film about?
Circumstances make Rana Pratap Jayadev ( Nara Rohit) go against local politician Durga Prasad ( Rao Ramesh). What are the circumstances and how it all ends is what the film is about.

Performance by Nara Rohit?
Nara Rohit is usual self through out the film. A feeling of stagnation is felt looking at the way he goes through his routine. He delivers lines in a very lazy way which is fine if its for few scenes but it gets tiresome when done throughout irrespective of the emotion that is expected out of that particular sequence. He also looks very heavy physically that he needs to take care off.

director-krishna-chaithanya in rowdy fellow review
Direction By Krishna Chaithanya?
Lyricist Krishna Chaitanya has turned director with the film. He has a basic idea of the craft which is visible in the making but it is also clearly visible that he is not able to bring his vision to the screen properly. The slickness that he is aiming for doesn’t come across on screen neither the punches land as anticipated in many scenes. There are few scenes in both halves which are good when seen individually but when seen as part of a narrative they don’t impress. It makes the narrative weak and deprives it of its energy. The dialogues are good more often than not which is also credited to him. Overall its a decent attempt on debut and surely he could get better going forward.

vishakha-singh-in-rowdy-fellow review
Vishakha Singh and others?
Vishakha Singh has an exclusive track in the film that has very little bearing with the main story of the film. She is okay. Rao Ramesh is superb as politician, it is without any doubt one of his best outing as an actor. He plays the role perfectly and is largely the reason why the narrative holds together. Supreeth and Ajay play typical characters that they have done many times in the past but with little additional quirks and restraint that make them interesting. Gollapudi Maruthi Rao has a small but important role and he is mighty fine. Aahuti Prasad is wasted. There are couple of comedians Praveen and Sathya and they both shine. Posani Krishnamurali oscillates between a comedian and character actor. His performance is regular but he is a scene stealer without any doubt. Finally Paruchuri Venkateshwara Rao even in a small part creates impact. As one can see there are a number of artists playing bits and pieces roles but nonetheless they are all fun in their own way.

Sunny-MRMusic and other departments?
Music of the film by M R Sunny is good and used sparingly throughout. The background score is a mixed bag, it is awesome at places and feels completely out of sync many times. Editing of the film should have been much tighter, the film even at 149 minutes feels very lengthy due to it. Cinematography is good.

Alternative take-of-rowdy-fellow-review
Alternative take:
Due to the overdose of confusion based comedy movies off late it feels refreshing to see any film that doesn’t chart that path. The film contains good characters with decent characterizations. Even the dialogues are good. The problem lies in the screenplay. Take example the marriage and a song before climax, it just looks so out of place and there are many such instances. An alternate take for the film therefore would be a film with good screenplay.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes in parts.

Will you recommend it?
Yes but with apprehensions.
