Center clarifies on Special Status and High CourtThe issues of Special Status and high court division rocked the Lok Sabha this morning as MPs of both the states insisted on the center’s stand on the issues. TDP MP Avanthi Srinivas clarified that two Union Ministries is not important for his party and stressed on the need of Special Status to the truncated state. TRS MPs protested in the well demanding high court division.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured them that the center is determined to justice for both the state. He assured that they will not do injustice to Andhra Pradesh. He also ascertained TRS MPs that he will talk to the Union Law Minister about the high court.

Later Venkaiah Naidu also responded on these issues on the floor of the house. He told that center is in favour of dividing the high court but it is matter in the jurisdiction of the courts now and could not comment more on that. Regarding Special Status, Venkaiah said that it is being examined by the Union Finance Ministry and things became complicated with 14th Finance Commission report. He also told that center acknowledges the importance of the then Prime Minister’s promise on the floor of Parliament.
