prabhas-2

Handsome hunk of Tollywood, Prabhas is a rage in China too now. Apparently, Chinese fans of Prabhas are making a beeline to get the tattoos of Prabhas inked and thereby express their admiration for the man. It all started with the release of the posters of Baahubali in China. Director of Baahubali, SS Rajamouli had earlier screened his Eega at a couple of Chinese film festivals and was buoyed by the response to the movie. Hence, he decided to have a Chinese release for Baahubali as well.

But even he might not have anticipated the response to Prabhas and this phenomenon has completely changed the dynamics of the business of Baahubali in China. Rajamouli is now believed to be in discussions with top Chinese distribution firms for releasing Baahubali on a grand scale in the ‘land of the dragon’. Starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Daggubati and Sesh Adivi in the lead roles, the movie is a period drama set in 8th century BC, and, apart from Chinese, the movie would be releasing in 13 other languages as well.

Tipped to be made on a budget of around Rs 150 crore, Baahubali is easily the highest budgeted movie ever in the history of Tollywood. But more importantly, it stands an excellent chance of taking Tollywood global in a truly unprecedented fashion and the popularity of Prabhas in China will only add to that.
