Center's best boon to Telangana till date!If there is anything that can be called as a big thing to Telangana after the separate state formation, it this one. The center had agreed in principle to include the power starved state in the 24X7 Power Supply scheme. However this will take a minimum of two years time to implement.

The state government had been pressing on this proposal for a long time and now the appeal has been accepted. The scheme is likely to be implemented from 2017-18 which is two years from now.

The central government experts panel had sought a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the state’s power requirements which consists of the infrastructure, future projects and grid connectivity. State Energy officials have reportedly sought a funding of Rs 15,000 crore for strengthening the distribution system in the newest state of the country.
