Even after a slow start on day 1 PK starring Aamir Khan has managed to get an opening weekend in the top 3. The film is now only behind Dhoom 3 in terms of opening weekend for a film that has released on a weekend with no holidays.
PK has collected approximately 93 Cr in its first three days. It could reach such a massive figure thanks to the stunning Sunday it had at the ticket counter, registering the biggest single day collection ever for a Hindi film. PK collected nearly 38 Cr on Sunday which is now a new record for highest single day collection beating the previous best of around 37 Cr for Happy New Year.
In an overall sense including the holiday and non-holiday releases PK is the fifth biggest opening weekend of all time. Incidentally only the two Aamir Khan films in the top 5 list are non-holiday releases.
