papanasam-kamal-gauthamiWithin two days of the film release, pirated copies of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Paapanasam’ were found on online sites shocking the makers of the film on how the pirates got the Censor Board certified copy of the film. This would invariably effect the revenues of the film because people who don’t normally go to theatres to watch movies would make the most of these pirated versions.

This isn’t the first time, pirated versions of film got leaked online. Recently another superhit film titled ‘Premam’s pirated versions got leaked in Kerala which did prove detrimental to the movie’s record run at the box office. The makers of ‘Paapanasam’can only take the help of cyber monitoring companies to remove the links of the pirated versions available online.

Besides removing the links, the makers want to take this as a legal issue, take it to police’s anti-piracy wing and also fight it out in courts. This kind of piracy is risking crores of money, when the career and craft of many actors and technicians is at stake.
