Andhra Pradesh government has fastened the state capital works. As a part of this government decided to cancel all the existing powers of Panchayatis of Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri. The powers are cancelled for the capital requirements. A G.O numbered 201 regarding the same was issued by Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Samba Siva Rao. The orders will be in place till the completion of capital construction.
It is known that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had announced that the state capital will be coming up near Vijayawada although the exact location is not yet revealed. The government had started looking in to land acquiring for the capital. They have decided to use land pooling method in which Farmers will be given a share in the developed lands in the lieu of open lands they give to the government.
