Hyderabad traffic cops photoStarting from yesterday, Traffic Police in Hyderabad will not be accepting cash for the various fines imposed for Traffic Violation. The violators will have the provision of swiping their debit or credit card on the spot. Those who do not have such cards have to pay cash in Mee Seva centers or Nationalized Banks and retain the receipts as proofs.

This cash less transactions are introduced so as to reduce the chances of corruption in Traffic officials. This system is in place in Tokyo, Japan and is efficient there for increasing the income through penalties and as well as reducing the corruption.

This was tried for some time in the last year as a pilot project and will become fully operational starting today. Our readers are aware that the minimum fine amount for any traffic violation in the limits of Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police commissionerates is increased to 1000.
