railway zone meetingRailway Minister Suresh Prabhu in his maiden Railway Budget tabled a short while ago conveniently ignored the promise of Special Railway Zone to Andhra Pradesh. The State Reorganization Act promises to come up with the feasibility report within six months after the appointed day. But 9 months have passed and there is no report or announcement.

There was a lot of discussion over the railway zone from the last few months but the railway minister did not even mention about this. Adding insult to injury, the railway minister did not not even a single new train which further disappointed the Telugu states. The disappointment from Telangana point of view is that there is no allocation of Coach manufacturing factory in Kazipet.

Experts say that the government may silently announce the Special Railway Zone after this budget session which definitely will not be to the liking of Andhra Pradesh people. The only respite is that there is no hike in ticket prices.
