Telugu Desam Party had decided to hold its annual Mahanadu one year in each state. Last year Mahanadu was held in Hyderabad and this time it should be the turn of Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, Vijayawada is decided as the venue. However it is now said that TDP Supremo is having second thoughts on this decision and is contemplating to have the annual event in Hyderabad itself.
Since the GHMC elections are round the corner, the party feels that Mahanadu here will have an impact on cadre and people. This will also help the party revive in Telangana where it is under extreme stress from all corners. Since many GHMC region MLAs have recently joined the ruling TRS party, Telangana TDP wants to use this event as display of strength. However Chandrababu Naidu is yet to take a final decision regarding this.
If Hyderabad is fixed, then the event will take place at Gandipet like every time they do. The entire event organizing will be under taken by Nara Lokesh. Rumours are rife that TDP is extending Mahanadu invitation to Janasena President, Pawan Kalyan. It will be interesting to see if he attend the TDP mega event!
