no ap formation day celebrationsIn the view of outcry from some sections of the people regarding celebrating June 2nd as the Andhra Pradesh formation day, Andhra Pradesh government had made few changes. June 2nd will not be celebrated as Formation day but will be celebrated as ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha Dhinam’.

That day the injustice meted to the state during the bifurcation will be explained to every one from village level to district level. All the ministers will review the progress of their ministries over the last one year from June 3rd to June 7th. The government is planning a big public meeting on June 8th near Vijayawada to explain the progress made by the government in executing Raithu Runa Mafi, DWACRA Runa Mafi, Pensions etc.

The government seem to have made a temporary provision by calling June 2nd as ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha Dhinam’ but it is not clear when the Formation day will be. It is known to our readers that there were divided opinions regarding the State Formation day till now. Some people say that AP should observe October 1 as the formation day as it was on this day that Andhra state was formed after separation from the Madras Presidency in 1953. The state that was formed from Madras Presidency exists today. And there are some people who argue to take the recent appointed day, June 2nd as the formation day. However few differ with that opinion as the state was still under President’s rule till June 8th. TDP formed the government only on 8th and some say the day on which elected government exists should be considered as the formation day.
