The version of ‘Kabali’ released in Malaysia has a different climax (Read Here) which has confused and angered the superstar’s fans across the world. We have reported earlier that ‘Kabali’ in India has a ambiguous ending, while that in Malaysia says that Kabali goes into police custody.
The reason behind this different climax is the Censor Board of Malaysia which didn’t permit the ambiguous ending as it is againat the guidelines. Any crime must be subjected to the law and order of the country and one person can’t take it into his hands for whatsoever reasons.
The topic of minority ethnic Indians is a sensitive issue in Malaysia and hence they had to take every care not to ruffle feathers with such matters. Hence the Censor Board suggested some cuts and also to change the climax by adding just one caption.
