modi canada visitNarendra Modi headed to Canada in the last leg of his three nation trip and it will be the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 42 years. Modi will have a series of talks with his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper in Ottawa aimed at increasing the trade and investments between the two countries.

Modi is also interested in using this visit to clinch a fuel supply agreement with Canada’s biggest uranium producer which will boast India’s nuclear power production. Canada banned exports of uranium and nuclear hardware to India in the 1970s after New Delhi used Canadian technology to develop a nuclear bomb.

Modi will try his level best to resume the Uranium supply for India’s civil nuclear uses. Modi will also meet the Indian diaspora in Toronto and Vancouver. He will try to woo Indian corporates, entrepreneurs settled in Canada to invest more and more in India.
