Narendra modi -Happy Diwali copyrightsPrime Minister Narendra Modi is accused of infringing the copyrights of a photograph captured by a USA based photographer. The Prime Minister had shared the image for wishing the citizens on the occasion of Diwali.

While several websites including that of the Australian government has used the image. The photographer alleged that the PM has used the photo without seeking his permission or giving him credit. The Prime Minister was angry on his social media for this mess and ordered them to touch base with the photographer to solve the issue.

The Prime Minister’s Social team defends that the image was to wish millions of Indians online and the Prime Minister or the government did not derive any profit from it. They also sent a mail to the photographer requesting to share the original image so that he can be acknowledged for his photo. But, the response of the photographer was disappointing according to the officials as he neither showed any interest in moving towards a solution.
