Line clear for May Day Release for UVThe May Day release for Kamal Haasan’s ‘Uttama Villain’ is confirmed officially on stage during a press meet held for promoting the Telugu version of the film in Hyderabad. Speaking during the event, the makers of the film confirmed on the release after the Madras High Court dismissed the petition on the film ban.

VHP, Hindu religious outfit sought ban on the film alleging that it hurt the sentiments of Hindus in a song sequence. But the court dismissed the petition saying that there is no merit in the plea by VHP and cleared the obstacles for the release of the film as scheduled.

Director of the film Ramesh Arvind laid confidence on the audiences and expressed his total submission to their verdict. The film is about the rise and fall of a superstar who spends his hay days quite lavishly and within this story, there is a connection of an eighth century artist ‘Uttaman’.
