Breaking the taboo of the society, two Lesbian girls, Smruthi Narayan and Shwetha Pai,working at Google Hyderabad recently got married. Both of them met in 2005 and reportedly fell in love later. They recently moved to US and got married.
Both of them exchanged the vows at the City Hall in San Francisco. Both Smruthi and Shwetha are active campaigners for LGBT rights. They have organized and participated in several events in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Both the families have disowned them and even threatened to kill them. But some of their friends from Bangalore helped them to be in hiding for a few months which they call as the toughest and most traumatic experience of their lives. They are now waiting for their families to accept them.
