Lepakshi becomes Golconda in TelanganaHandicrafts and art object outlets in United Andhra Pradesh, Lepakshi will be called Golconda going further in Telangana. The Chief Minister had signed orders to rename all Lepakshi outlets in the state as Golconda handicrafts emporia. It is not clear if the stores will continye to offer products from AP going forward.

Also it is not clear how the Lepakshi properties would be divided between both the states and how the existing store fronts in cities like New Delhi and Kolkata would be partitioned. Lepakshi is listed under the Ninth Schedule of the AP Reorganization Act.

Organisations listed under this Schedule can be divided by the two states without the Central government’s intervention. The Sheela Bhide Committee entrusted with the distribution of assets and liabilities of Lepakshi between Telangana and AP is yet to complete the task.
