Former Vijayawada Congress MP, Lagadapati Raja Gopal met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Delhi the other day. Lagadapati promised to stay away from politics if the state is separated and honouring his promise, he did not contest the 2014 elections. But now Lagadapati meeting Chandrababu assumes significance.
Some sources in Vijayawada say Lagadapati is considering TDP for reviving his political career. He sees no future in Congress and already rubbished Jagan’s proposal to join YSR Congress on couple of occasions. Only TDP and BJP are his choices and the former MP seem to be favouring TDP.
This is the first political meet of Lagadapati after the elections. He mostly concentrated on his business plans post the elections. If he is admitted to TDP, it will further strengthen the party in Krishna district. However neither TDP nor Lagadapati’s team made any comments about this meeting or their future plans.
