Krishna-Rvier-KCR_harish-RaThe Krishna River Management Board finally announced its decision on the ongoing controversy between both the Telugu States on the contentious issue of hydel power generation at Srisailam. The Board announced that it will allow Telangana to use 3 TMC of water for the power generation of Telangana till November 2nd. The Board announced that it will review the situation once again on November 15th. This proposal was earlier put up by the board in the previous two meetings with both the state officials but was uprightly rejected by Telangana then.

Earlier, the Telangana government already alleged that the Board is playing to the tunes of Andhra Government and threatened to ignore it if it takes a decision against interests of Telangana State. It is said that Telangana government is planning to move to the Apex Council constituted under the State Reorganisation Act as the decision of the board went against it. The Council is headed by Union Water Resources Ministers and has Chief Ministers of both States as members. They are even toying the idea of going to Courts if Apex Council did not give them a favourable ruling.
