The Aam Admi government in Delhi has started taking measure to erase the bad name of Delhi as ‘India’s Rape Capital’. The Kejriwal government had started focusing on improving security for women in public places. As a part of it, government is deploying special forces for women in the areas which are deemed as dangerous for women.
The government is also deploying marshals in all the DTC buses from 6PM to 12AM. The government is also giving special powers to sub-divisional magistrates to check the buses wherever and whenever. Government had also announced that there will be more steps in future to make Delhi a secured place for women.
It is known that the Nirbhaya rape in Delhi few years back in a moving bus shook the entire country and even grabbed the attention of the entire World. Recently BBC aired a documentary about that incident which brought back the ugly memories. The documentary also created huge controversy due to the insensitive opinions of the convict and his defense lawyers in the documentary which forced the government to ban it.
